Automobile Lamborghini S.p.A. is an Italian brand and manufacturer of luxury sports cars. It is owned by the Volkswagen Group through its subsidiary brand division Audi. I believe everybody have heard about this brand and many people dream about having a Lamborghini. Unfortunately they are very expensive and not many people can afford owning one.

Ferruccio Lamborghini founded this company in 1963 with the objective of producing a refined grand touring car to compete with offerings from established marques such as Ferrari. It grew rapidly during the first decade but sales plunged in the wake of the worldwide financial downturn and the oil crises. The ownership changed three times after 1973 and it includes bankruptcy in 1978.

Automobile Lamborghini S.p.A. controls Volkswagen group Italia S.p.A., MML S.p.A, Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A., Italdesign Guidaro S.p.A.

Through its history it envisioned and presented variety of concept cars. Beginning in 1963 with 350GTV – the very first Lamborghini prototype. It had many famous muddles such as 1974 Bravo, 1980 Athon and many others.

The ost important markets in 2004 for Lamborghini’s sports cars are the United States with 41% of the total sales. Next is Germany with 13%, then Great Britain with 9% and Japan with 8%. Prior to the launch of the Gallardo in 2003, Lamborghini produced approximately 400 vehicles per year; in 2011 Lamborghini produced 1,711 vehicles.

Porsche Automobil Holding SE orshort as Porsche is a German holding with investments in automotive industry. This company is headquartered in Zuffenhausen which is a city district in Stuttgart and is owned by the Piech and Porsche families. It was founded in 1931 by Ferdinand Porsche.

One of the first assignments this company received was from the government to design a car for the people that is a “Volkswagen”. This resulted in one of the most successful car designs of all time – Volkswagen Beetle. During World War II Volkswagen production turned to the military version of Volkswagen Beetle. Porsche produced several designs for heavy tanks but they lost to Henschel & Son in both contracts which led to the Tiger I and Tiger II. After the war, in 1945, Ferdinand lost his position as Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen and instead of him, Ivan Hrist was put in charge of the factory. He was a British Army Major. The relationship between Porsche and Volkswagen was always close and on 5th July 2012, Volkswagen AG announced a deal with Porsche resulting in Volkswagen’s full ownership n 1st August the same year. Volkswagen AG paid Porsche shareholders 5.61 bilion for the remaining 50.1% it did not own. This deal was classified as restructuring and not as take over which is not allowed.

Their logo was based on the coat of arms of the Free People’s state of Wurttemberg of Weimar Germany, which had Stuttgart as capital city.

Driverless car

Driverless or also known as autonomous cars are an autonomous vehicle capable of fulfilling the human transportation capabilities of a traditional car. As an autonomous vehicle, it is capable of sensing its environment and navigating without human input. Robotic cars exist mainly as prototypes and demonstration systems. Currently, the only self-driving vehicles that are commercially available are open-air shuttles for pedestrian zones that operate at 12.5 miles per hour (20.1 km/h)

If you ask some older people about this, you can get two types of answer. Some of them will be very skeptical and say that this will never happen in real life. But others will give the traditional answer that everything is possible and in the future there will be even more amazing things that will happen.

Many people have read in newspapers about this and I am sure everyone will agree that it is a great thing but, is it going to happen or not? Well according to some websites, Volvo expects vehicles that can be autonomous at up to 31 miles (50 km) per hour, with expected use in heavy traffic this year! By 2018, Google expects to release their autonomous car technology and by 2020, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Nissan and BMW all expect to sell autonomous cars.

Everything sounds great, all we have to do is wait and hope that one day we will have our own autonomous car.

BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi are the big German trio of luxury automakers.

BMW is short for Bayerische Motoren Werke and it is a German automobile, motorcycle and engine manufacturing company which was found in 1916. It is also world-wide popular company and synonym for high-quality cars and motorcycles. It has revenue of over 75 billion euros!

Mercedes-Benz, apart from automobiles, is also making buses, coaches and trucks and it is interesting that it took part in the world championship in 1954 and 1955, but despite being successful with two championship titles for Juan-Manuel Fangio. The company left the sport after just two seasons. He is considered by many to be the best F1 driver in history

Audi is the youngest out of all these three. Audi is “only” 81 years old compared to BMW’s 97. The largest shareholder of Audi is Volkswagen AG, which holds approximately 99.5% of the share capital. Volkswagen includes the consolidated accounts of Audi in its own financial statements.

What all these three automobile companies have in common is that all of them are world-wide popular and it is hard to find someone that has never heard about any of them. They are great innovators and they introduce at least one new model every year. If you want to buy a car, and you buy BMW, Mercedes or Audi, you should know that you haven’t made a mistake at all.
