I love being outdoors but as much as I want to indulge in activities like hiking and camping, my busy schedule does not give me a lot of time to do so. But whenever I do have time, I try to enjoy these activities to the fullest. Hiking is something that I enjoy because it has many health benefits such as improved cardio-respiratory and muscular fitness, increased bone density or a slower loss of density, reduced depression, better quality of sleep, and weight control among others. Furthermore, I get to enjoy the beauty of nature.

There are plenty of places around the world where you can do this activity but hiking in Australia remains to be on top of my list. It has some grand walking trails like Heysen Trail, Victoria’s Wilsons Promontory, Bibbulmun Track, and Larapinta Trail across the Northern Territory’s West MacDonnell Ranges where you can do day walks, short scenic sections or pace end-to-end on trips that take weeks or months to finish.

Naturally you will need to wear the right clothes and shoes and have appropriate gear on your hiking trip. The essentials however, do not need to be expensive to be trail-worthy. But it would be great if they are functional, comfortable, and fashionable. Wear synthetic T-shirts, shorts, wool sweater, waterproof / wind-proof rain / wind jackets, hiking or rain pants, and hiking specific socks. As for footwear, hiking boots are the way to go. Your backpack needs to be big enough to carry your food, water, extra clothes and other necessities (map and compass, firestarter and matches, multi-tool or knife, first aid kit, flashlight or headlamp and extra batteries, sunscreen and sunglasses) comfortably.

Nowadays, we see a lot of online stores selling sportswear and outdoor clothing at affordable prices. One of them is The Clymb which offers discounts of up to 70% off retail on the best hiking gear by the most premium brands. Here you will find men and women’s apparel, hiking shoes, packs, poles, and a lot more from brands like Adidas, Timberland, Teko, Keen, Hanwag, Merrell Footwear, Columbia, Ecco etc. I happen to be interested in the Men’s Terrex Fast X Mid GTX from Adidas which is great for quick hikes. Some of its features are TRAXION outsole built with Continental Rubber for extraordinary grip on slick surfaces, FORMOTION in the heel which enhances control, and protective synthetic-and-mesh upper lined in waterproof breathable GORE-TEX.

Brazil was always a great tourist destination. But it is expected that there will be a lot more travel agencies to organize traveling to Brazil in 2014. Main reason for this is the World Cup of course. But, besides it, there are plenty of nice things to visit in Brazil! Here is a list of some of them:

1. Ouro Preto is one of Brazil’s best-preserved colonial towns. It means “black gold” and it was founded at the end of the 17th century. It quickly became the epicenter of a new gold rush in the state of Minas Gerais.

2. The Pantanal is the world’s largest wetland, lying mostly in Western Brazil but extending into Bolivia and Paraguay as well. Famous for its wildlife, it is one of Brazil’s major tourist attractions. Unlike the Amazon rainforest, in the Pantanal you are virtually guaranteed to actually see the wildlife.

3. The Rio Carnival attracts two million people per day on the streets and almost half a million foreigners during its 4 day celebration. The Carnival is all over the place, in the streets and squares, bars, clubs and all other venues in Rio, concluding in the spectacular Rio Samba Parade at the Sambadrome.

4. Christ the Redeemer is the famous statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro. Located at the peak of the 700 meters (2,300 ft) Corcovado mountain, it provides a sweeping panorama from the interior of Guanabara bay to the north, to Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas to the south.

Best winter destinations

Many people prefer cold weather over hot weather. Mostly because there are a lot of great winter destinations that make winter lovers relax and enjoy the time. Here is a list of travel destinations that are great in winter:

1. Swiss Alps. To experience off-piste glacier slopes without the crowds, spend the night on the mountainside at Whitepod, five geodesic domes high above the town of Villars, just east of Lake Geneva. Although the tents have no running water or electricity, they’re the height of eco-chic, with wood-burning stoves, high-tech insulation, organic linens, and iPods.

2. Aspen. WHY There’s nothing like making fresh tracks down a mountain—and with the opening of the Deep Temerity lift at Aspen Highlands, skiers now have 180 previously untouched acres to play on.

 photo Gore_Creek_Drive_-_Vail_CO_zpscfea63d0.jpg

3. Vail. It lures thousands of skiers and snowboarders every year. And it’s easy to see why: Vail Ski Resort contains about 5,289 skiable acres, making it the USA’s largest single-mountain resort. But make your travel plans well in advance — you’re not the only one yearning to hit the slopes.

4. Telluride. Vail and Aspen are luxurious, but Telluride’s rustic charm is equally enchanting. With 1,700 skiable acres, the Telluride Ski Resort is the main place to shred powder. But it’s the rare combination of 300 sunny days and 300 inches of snow each year that makes Telluride a skier’s dream.

Liverpool

Liverpool is one of the best cities in Europe with very rich history. It is the city of Beatles, the city where Titanic started its journey. There are many great attractions that you should visit if you ever have a chance to visit Liverpool. It is famous for two cathedrals, and it does not matter if you are religious or not, these historic sites are recommended to view if you ever put your feet in this city.

The second religion here is Football. Anfield is the home of Liverpool Football Club and Goodison Park is the home of their city rivals Everton. It is hard to find anyone in this city that does not follow football at all.

Those who love visiting galleries and museums, you can visit Museum of Liverpool, World Museum Liverpool, Walker Art Museum Liverpool, Merseyside Maritime Museum, International Slavery Museum, Lady Lever Art Gallery Port Sunlight Village and many others. There are many popular parks that you can visit and waste your time in the beautiful view. Calderstones park, Greenbank park, Sefton park, Reynolds park are just few of the many you can find in this beautiful city.  The Echo Wheel is  60-metre high wheel located outside of the Echo Arena and it has 42 capsules which provide amazing views of the city, its historic waterfront and the Welsh Hills beyond.
